Bachelor of Science in FORENSIC SCIENCE Following is the typical pattern for completing the requirements for the major in Forensic Science, if you enter OC with an ACT Math sub score less than 23. Taking the courses as shown on this degree plan will help you stay on track to complete your degree in 5 years. Courses do not always have to follow this exact pattern, but variations from it should be planned carefully with your faculty advisor. minimum of 126 total hours is needed. The degree plan includes 3 hours of student development hours that do not count towards the 126 hours requirement. The degree plan includes College Algebra (3 hours), Biology I (3 hours), and Introduction to Chemistry (4 hours). The degree plan reflects the usual class load for any elective (3 hours). 1These

courses are offered every other year. Therefore, as you enroll for your first year, you should plan your schedule for your remaining years, making certain that you include these courses in your schedule in the semester in which they are available. Recommendations as follows: for Toxicology-related career/graduate school: BIOL-3115, BIO-3224, and/or BIOL-3435 for DNA-related career/graduate school requires: BIOL-2314, BIOL-4223, and BIOL-4301 for Psychological Forensic Science /graduate school : PSYC-3313, PSYC-3913, PYSC-4413, and PSYC-4423 for Forensic Chemistry: MATH-2114 and CHEM-4613

3BS Flex Electives- BS majors in the Forensic Science must take 4 of the following 5 areas: 3 hours of Behavior Science, 3 additional hours of Great Works, 3 hours of Western Civilization, 3 hours of Non-Western Civilization, and 3 hours of Liberal Arts.
