MR. KUEHL: Welcome to the 8th Grade! I am so excited to be teaching 8th grade social studies. I spent last year teaching 8th grade social studies in Fryeburg Maine. I did my student teaching in 8th grade at BMS and can’t wait to spend this next year with you guys. In Social Studies this year we will be looking at U.S history to understand and solve issues our word is facing today. We will be studying thematic units; Conflict, Expansion, Immigration, Internal development, and Political and Social movements. We will research and write using deeper levels of understanding to analyze and support our ideas and beliefs through evidence in primary and secondary sources. Our classes are going to be extremely student centered and I promise it’s going to be a challenging yet fun year. Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Students will partake in many hands-on activities and researchedbased learning.
Welcome to 8th Grade! This will be my 15th year teaching ELA. I am very excited to be part of Team Sugarloaf and working with all the great teachers and students on this team. In our ELA class, we will work on improving our reading, writing, and language skills. We will be reading and discussing a wide variety of articles, short stories, poetry, plays, and novels. The three main units of writing that will be worked on are narrative, persuasive, and informational. I wish you all the best over summer. I look forward to seeing you all when you return in September. I know that we will have a great year!
