Sinopsis Ray (Elle Fanning) es un adolescente transgénero que decide someterse a una operación de cambio de sexo. Maggie (Naomi Watts), su madre soltera, debe contactar con el padre biológico de Ray para conseguir su consentimiento legal para la operación. Dolly (Susan Sarandon), la abuela de Ray, no acaba de acostumbrarse a que ahora tiene un nieto. Juntas tendrán que confrontar sus identidades y abrazar su fuerza como familia para llegar a la aceptación y el entendimiento. (FILMAFFINITY)
