Report Cards First semester report cards were sent home with students last Friday, February 2. Included with the report card is the following informational documents… How to Make Sense of Your Child’s Report Card (which includes the Effort and Citizenship Rubrics), What is My Child Learning in “their current” Grade, and 2018-19 Registration Information. Please be sure to ask your child about this if you haven’t seen it yet. Valentine’s Day Treat Delivery Want to send a student and/or staff member a fun Valentine treat on Valentine’s Day? See the attached flyer for more information on how you can do this. All payments and order forms are due Friday, February 9. Please put payments and order form in a sealed envelope or Ziploc back. (You can also view the flyer on our website in color… the pictures are easier to see in color!)
2018/2019 Registration Information Beginning with the 2018-19 school year, Greater Albany Public Schools will use online services for student registration. For more information, be sure to read the yellow insert that came home in your child’s report card envelope. You can also view it on our website, Parents & Students button, and then choose Registration Information.

Team spirit is a genuine consideration for others. An eagerness to sacrifice personal interests of glory for the welfare of all.
These character traits are being taught in our PE class and reinforced throughout the building. They are based on the “Pyramid of Success” found in the book Inch and Miles, Journey to Success by John Wooden.

We are looking forward to having the students perform for you! YMCA After School Program The YMCA after school program will be offering busing service beginning in March. They are offering after school programs that will help students with what they are doing during their school day. They offer both extended learning opportunities and physical activities. For more information see the flyer on our website, choose the Parents & Students button, After School Programs/Clubs, and click on the YMCA icon. Contact Information Updates Please remember to contact the school office if your telephone number or your address has changed. It is extremely important for parents/guardians to keep their contact information up-to-date in case of school emergencies. Thank you! Central & Takena Parent/Guardians: If you read this newsletter, please send a short note with your child to return to the office stating, “We read the newsletter!” The student’s name will go into a drawing for a prize. We will have a drawing in June. The prize will be an Apple iPad!!! Notes must be returned by Wednesday, February 7.
