I-ready is tested 3 times a year (gets immediate results), PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) is tested one time in the spring with results taking several months to receive back. • Colorado now only does SAT testing, 2010 Colorado adopted Common Core Curriculum. • Less than 1% (0.006% of school time is spent testing on PARCC. Testing is groundwork only to show what each grade level is learning. • Common Core, unlike what it looks like, is actually written by teachers. “Pearson” is the printing company only. • TCAP testing was before PARCC, switching of testing was the need for higher standards. • New standards are creating authentic learning environment with an emphasis on critical thinking. New standards also include text complexity, making sure students know and understand complex texts. • As parents, when working with your child, can often ask “How do you know that?” or “Show me proof or evidence on how you got to that answer?”. • i-ready, PARCC, PSAT and SAT all have the same standards. Budget, Coleen. •
No final word from the fundraising night at McDonalds but we are estimating $700. Recently also received a $267 check from King Soopers.
