Dear Mr Butler, REQUEST FOR INFORMATION - REFERENCE TPA3(11 )-DISCLOSURE I wrote to you on 24 August 2007 following your request for information. In your request you asked for the following: 1. A breakdown of any budgetary provisions for all direct costings. 2. A breakdown of forecasts for all other non-specific costings. 3.The costs of the Inspector. 4. The costs of providing expert witnesses. 5. The cost of any legal representation so far. 6. Any other expenses from the Inquiry payable out of public funds. I enclose the information you requested and for ease of reference I enclose a list of the information concerned. You will note that the costings of items 1 to 4 are based on the estimated weekly costs and items 5 to 6 are costs incurred to date. The need and length of the Inquiry is not controlled by the Welsh Assembly Government. With regard to the need this is in accordance with legislative requirements and the objections lodged to the published draft orders. As regards its length this will depend upon the amount of evidence to be presented and considered by the appointed Inspector who is responsible for the conduct, running and length of Inquiry. As the promoter of the Orders the Welsh Assembly Government has a responsibilty to fully participate in this democratic process until it is complete. Your request was considered according to the principles set out in the Assembly's Code of Practice on Public Access to Information (third edition). The Code is
