When we turn on a light, we don’t look at the light, and we don’t stare at salt when we put it on our food. Salt and light are meant to enhance and compliment other things. In the same way, we are called to help each other with the gifts God has given us…our vocation is to serve. Second Collections in February: February 5 –Corpus Christi School - Monthly tax to the chancery to support our school. February 12 - Peter’s Pence - This is the charity which helps the Pope give charitable aid to people suffering from natural disasters throughout the world. February 19- Parish Winter Fuel Needs - Con Ed bill for gas and electric (both parish buildings are heated by gas). Corpus Christi Book Club: The next meeting will be on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at 8 p.m. in the rectory. We will discuss Henri Nouwen, The Return of the Prodigal Son, his book inspired by the famous painting by Rembrandt. All are welcome. Music Before 1800: The Choir of Corpus Christi church, with guest conductor James Bassi, will present “The English Renaissance and the Catholic Tradition” at Corpus Christi Church on Sunday, February 12th at 4 p.m..
