Let us take an Example to understand the concept Active voice and Passive voice. a Shiva plays Cricket (AV) a Cricket is played by Shiva (PV) a In Active Voice the Subject(Shiva) tells us the action is done by the doer (Subject-Shiva) a In the Passive Voice the Object(Cricket) becomes Subject and it was done by the Object-Shiva a In simple manner, In Active voice the Action is expressed directly. a In Passive Voice the Action that is expressed indirectly Before going to Answer the Active voice and Passive voice, keep the following points in mind. 1.The Object of the Active voice (A.V) becomes Subject of the Passive voice (P.V) 2. The Subject of the Active voice becomes Object of the Passive Voice(P.V) 3. The Auxiliary verb is decided by the Tense, Singular and Plural. a The Subject of the Passive voice (Earlier it is the object of the Active voice) 4. If the Subject is in (i) Present tense & Singular; use the Auxiliary verb “am or is” (ii) Present tense Plural ;use the Auxiliary verb “are” 5. If the Subject is in (i) Past tense & Singular ;use the Auxiliary verb ‘was’ (ii)Past tense & Plural; use the Auxiliary verb ’were’ 6. Write the Past participle (V3) form of the given verb 7.
