Having a POV helps create clarification of a character’s view of the text whether it is mood, setting, and goals

What is the author trying to convey in his writing? And what material can we use to solve it?

Identifying the author? An author uses several key terms and phrases in order to convey and connect the text What is a POV? (Point of View) Has the author stated his POV clearly? Analyzing the structure of the text helps distinguish what the purpose and the theme are What is the author’s purpose and theme?

Having outside sources helps construct a connection with the text in order to create an opinion about what was being read

Students Will Know: • How to identify the terms protagonist, antagonist, POV, theme, plot, climax and etc. • How to analyze the theme and the developed plot •

Searching methods using various information and connection



How to compare and contrast characters within in the text

Students Will be able to: • Connect key terms and information by using information from the text or from outside sources • •

Identify who the protagonist/antagonist are by creating a t-chart or Venn Diagram Incorporate #CUBA in reading and structure organization of information and detail

ELA WRITING Stage 1 – Desired Results Established Goals Students will be able to write informative/explanatory text, which will convey structural ideas, relevant information, and organization of the content. Understandings: Students will understand that: The main point in the text will have relevance and connection to organizing a self sufficient essay, The importance of a thesis, which helps argue to what the writer, is trying to prove.

Essential Questions: What is the main point in the text? What are the key terms of putting together an essay? What is a thesis? What is an outline?

Creating an outline will create structure on how a paper should stand and be delivered.

What is the structure of an essay?

Identify and analyze which genre fits for certain types of essays.

How will you transition quality information into the text?
