What is Recycle Friday? Recycle Friday is MOSTLY the last Friday of the month when students and their families are encouraged to bring all their clean CRV recyclables (plasZc, glass and aluminum) to school during morning drop-‐off. This helps our students understand the benefits of recycling, keeps these recyclable items out of our landfill, and makes some money for our school.

Head Lice Notification: Head lice has been reported in the following classrooms: Teacher/Classroom Mrs. Mayer/Ms. Scroggins
Date Reported: 12/23/2011
Symptoms: Itching may be mild to intense. Rarely, irritated skin from head lice can get infected with bacteria. Signs of such bacterial infection include fever, swollen neck lymph glands, and hot, red skin. Lice may be difficult to see. They are most commonly seen at the nape of the neck and behind the ears. Nits (eggs) may be seen as specks "glued" to the hair shaft. Nits range in color from yellow to grey. Method of Spread: It is common in school-age children. You can catch head lice by coming in direct contact with an infested person's head or with personal belongings such as combs, brushes, and hats. Head lice can spread as long as lice or eggs remain alive on the infested person or clothing. Dogs and cats do not catch head lice. Control: Visit your health care professional, the National Pediculosis Association website at http://www.headlice.org/ for advice on control.
