PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Kia Ora Koutou, There has been a lot of illness this week with staff and students. If your child is sick please let Chrissy know what the illness is ASAP. Parents have been amazing at letting us know and this really helps Frans and his family assess the situation. Keep the information coming!! Mr Yeoman has been away as his Grandfather passed away. We send our thoughts and prayers to him and his family. He will return on Thursday. Assembly this week. If possible, come and celebrate our learning and achievements at school. If your child is getting a principal's award you will be contacted before Friday. It was great to see so many parents at our last school assembly. After advertising the role of school caretaker in the CO News and school newsletter, I am pleased to inform you that this position has been filled. It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Mark Eastwood. Mark is very well qualified for this position and brings a great range of experience and skills to this role. We welcome Mark to our school staff and believe he will be a great asset to our school environment. The Board would like to thank Fulton Hogan for their contribution to maintaining our school environment over the past two years. With skating and all the other exciting learning opportunities we are in and out of our uniforms. This is a reminder that when in uniform it needs to be correct and the full school uniform. Girls socks/tights-black or green, boys socks-grey and black or brown shoes. Seems to be a few odd colours slipping into the uniform. I will be away at the catholic principals conference on Thursday and Friday. If you need to discuss any issues or problems before next week, please see Mr Yeoman. I will be checking my emails. Have a great week and a super weekend Julie Flannery

FAITH FACT FOR WEEK 8 There are many things for the Church to celebrate this week. One is the feast of Corpus Christi or The Body and Blood of Christ. This is the Holy Day to remember the Sacrament of the Eucharist or Holy Communion. Many Parishes will have children making their first communion on this day. Also, it is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This image of Jesus dates from as early as the 13th century and depicts the humanness of Jesus and his love for humanity. And on the 24th June, we celebrate the birth of John the Baptist, Jesus’ cousin.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation This coming Tuesday 27th June, at 6 pm in the Church, nine children from our parish will be making their First Reconciliation. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available to all parishioners at this time, so feel free to join us and support the children and their families. Parent Meeting: This Thursday evening 22nd June, 7 pm at Father Pat’s house. Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by the change of date this week.

GENERAL NEWSBOARd Lost Once again there are several named jerseys missing. Quinn Breen has lost two - one with his name on and one with Eden Breen on it. Jack Waldron has lost his jersey also - it has a yellow ribbon sewn into it. Please check your children’s jerseys as these must be somewhere and it is easy enough to take the wrong ones home.
