QUEEN ANNE COMMUNITY COUNCIL 1818 1st Avenue W Seattle, WA 98119 January 19. 2017

Dear Washington Holdings LLC, The Queen Anne Community Council is writing today to respectfully join many other voices in our community and around Seattle to allow Teatro ZinZanni to remain on site as long as possible. Teatro has been an important piece of our Seattle cultural puzzle for almost twenty years and has provided thousands with an unparalleled evening arts experience. Its current location helps anchor our unique Seattle Cultural District, and eventually we will miss their infectious energy, employment base, and strong contributions to the vibrancy and economics of our community and neighborhood. While we understand that they must eventually move, we offer our community encouragement that all the parties thoroughly review every opportunity associated with allowing Teatro to continue operating on site as long as possible. Over decades we have seen development come and go in Seattle; often demolishing valued institutions only to find shortly thereafter that economic conditions change and suggest a development delay, project abandonment, or even a sale. The once vibrant and active property then lies empty, unused and taken from a neighborhood erasing what was once an active attraction and anchor for a community. We hope this will not be the case with your project. One way to ensure the values of our neighborhood and respect for all our neighbors, would be to allow Teatro to remain until your project is truly shovel ready and a 100% go!

Thanks for your consideration. Ellen Monrad Chair, Queen Anne Community Council
