Interested participants are requested to fill the registration form and send the same to the Organizing Secretaries. Registration fee will be accepted by Demand Draft drawn in favor of “VIT University, Chennai Campus”, payable at Chennai along with the completed registration form. Registration is limited and on first come first served basis. Registration fee does not include accommodation charges.

About SELECT The School of Electrical Engineering at VIT Chennai was established for imparting a state-of theart education, training and research in the field of Engineering and allied areas. It offers B.Tech, M.Tech, M.S (By research) and Ph.D. Programmes in the domain of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The expertise of the faculty members includes Power Systems, Power Electronics and Drives, Applied Electronics, Control and Instrumentation, VLSI and other frontier areas.

This workshop aims to:  Acquire thorough knowledge to understand the concepts of modeling systems at the element level in an electrical network.  Ability to perform simulation and computation based study of electrical systems.  Provide Hands on experience with simulation tools for analysis of power systems/power electronic systems

Workshop Contents PECCON 2017 The School of Electrical Engineering, VIT University, Chennai Campus is organizing its First International Conference on Power Engineering, Computing and CONtrol (PECCON-2017) during 2nd-4th March, 2017. The theme of the conference is “Conceptualizing Green Energy solutions for Smart world”. Eminent Professors from reputed Universities such as Victoria University, Australia, University of Aberdeen, UK, National University of Singapore and University of Cambridge, UK will be delivering keynote address. International Universities have agreed to participate in the conference. All the presented papers will be published in Energy Procedia of Elsevier Publisher after a technical screening by Elsevier. Theme of Workshop The world depends on computing devices for everything. Similarly engineers rely mostly on computers with appropriate tools / packages / software for their studies, modeling and implementation. Hence it is vital at this time to focus more on the simulation tools.

The two day workshop is aimed to provide hands on experience with simulation tools like PSCAD, MATLAB, and MIPOWER for practical research problems in electrical engineering.

Resource Persons Experts from VIT and Nayak Power Systems will conduct the hands-on session for both the days
