County Clerk/Registrar of Voters (CC/ROV) Memorandum #16061 TO:

All County Clerks/Registrars of Voters

FROM:

/s/ Jennifer Curtis Voter Information Guide Program Manager

RE:

Presidential Primary: Results of Legislative and Congressional Candidate Statement Cost Survey and Proposition 34 Legislative Candidates Form 501 Status Report

The Secretary of State’s office has compiled the results of the survey regarding how much counties plan to charge for legislative and congressional candidate statements and the additional foreign languages in which the statements may be printed. You may access the results of the Legislative and Congressional Candidate Statement Cost Survey at www.sos.ca.gov/elections/candidate-statements. The costs reflected in the candidate statement survey are only estimates. Candidates should be advised to contact their specific county elections office for the exact costs. Additionally, we have compiled an initial “Proposition 34 – June 7, 2016, Presidential Primary Election Legislative Candidates Form 501 Status Report.” This report identifies the legislative candidates who have accepted the campaign expenditure limits under Proposition 34 and who are allowed to purchase a candidate statement in the appropriate county sample ballot/voter information guide for the upcoming election. This report will be updated through the close of the candidate nomination period, March 11, 2016 (E-88), and placed on the Secretary of State’s website at: www.sos.ca.gov/elections/candidate-statements. The final report will be issued in conjunction with the Certified List of Candidates on April 1, 2016. A copy of the final report will be mailed to your county for your records. If you have any questions or need any additional information, you may contact Stacey Jarrett at (916) 695-1574 or via e-mail at [email protected].
