Week 6 Term 1

Kia Ora Whanau We are over halfway through Term 1 already and on the countdown toward Easter. We have had a great start to the year, a fantastic whanau day and some awesome work being done within the syndicate. There have however been some small ongoing issues at school this term and we are asking parents to support us, by talking to your children about the following; Our school Rules Keep your feet on the ground and your hands to yourselves. If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it. Respect other peoples property. We have had small issues of food stolen from bags, children taking equipment that is not theirs and incidents of bullying and undesirable behaviour towards others. Teachers are regularly talking to children about the concept of tiaki; looking after each other, respect for others and the protection of others. These small incidents impact on learning within the classroom, the ability of others to enjoy school and also for children to feel safe at school. Please take time over the next week to discuss these with your children and help us to create a syndicate we can all be proud of. Now to celebrate our good news this week!! Pepeha In the next few weeks children will be completing pepeha for their classroom. We have attached a basic information sheet to assist children with completing their pepeha. If parents/whanau could assist with the completion of details on the form and return it to school we would appreciate it. If for any reason you do not wish for this to be done, please let your child’s teacher know.
