ELLIE LOCKWOOD JOINS THE DENVER OFFICE OF SNELL & WILMER DENVER (August 5, 2016) – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Ellie Lockwood has joined the commercial litigation practice group as an associate in the Denver office. Lockwood, who started at Snell & Wilmer on July 1, focuses her practice on commercial and intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on fraud and business torts. She has previous litigation experience from a boutique trial firm, where she handled a broad range of business disputes, contempt, and postjudgment proceedings. Further, Lockwood has an active pro bono practice, which has included representation of the State Public Defender, serving as Special Counsel for the State Public Defender’s Office, and client representation in a civil rights lawsuit. In addition to her practice, Lockwood is also active in the Denver community. Ellie Lockwood She is a member of the Colorado Lawyers Committee where she participates in the Mental Health Task Force, the Lobato School Finance Litigation Task Force and also co-chairs the Legal Night Team of the Young Lawyers Division. Before becoming an attorney, Lockwood gained practical experience clerking full time at a boutique trial firm for nearly three years while attending law school in the evening. She graduated second in her class from the University Of Denver Sturm College Of Law where she was senior staff editor for Denver University Law Review. While in law school, she pursued an interest in intellectual property litigation with membership in the school's intellectual property law society. She is a member of the Colorado Bar Association intellectual property section. Lockwood holds an undergraduate degree in biological sciences, magna cum laude, from the University Of Denver. During this program, she conducted research on rainforest foliage to aid in predicting prehistoric climates at the Commonwealth Scientific & Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) in Queensland, Australia. She also achieved a minor in legal studies. Outside of the office, Lockwood enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children.
