Principal’s Message It is hard to believe that our school year will soon be halfway over. The Christmas season is here. It is a wonderful time of the year to spend with family and friends. STATE TESTS It’s test time for some of our students. The English II & Algebra I state tests will be December 7 & 8. The Biology I & US History tests will be December 13. You play an important role in helping students do their best. Please speak with your child about the test. Emphasize the importance of the test, but remember to build confidence, not anxiety. Remind your child that we have been preparing and reinforcing the skills necessary for him/her to be successful. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child’s education. Together we can make a difference.

How Can I be Exempt from my of End-of-Course Exams? A student may be exempt from an end-of-course exam in semester courses with: • At least a 90 average in the course and 5 or less attendance events during the semester, • At least an 80 average in the course and 3 or less attendance events during the semester, OR • At least a 70 average in the course and no attendance events during during the semester. A student may be exempt from an end-of-course exam in nine-weeks courses with: • At least a 90 average in the course and 2 or less attendance events during the nine weeks, • At least an 80 average in the course and 1 or less attendance events during the nine weeks, OR • At least a 70 average in the course and no attendance events during during the nine weeks. For exemption purposes, an attendance event is defined as: absence to school, tardy to school, check-in, or check-out.
This policy does not apply to dual credit or AP courses.
