St. Joseph Regional Health Center, Bryan, TX Director of Clinical Engineering & Telecommunications 1996 – 2002 Complete management responsibilities for all medical and telecommunications equipment for a medical complex consisting of a 286bed main facility, three 50-bed facilities, a 61-bed rehabilitation center, 3 outpatient cardiac stress/PT labs, 4-bed Sleep Lab, Alzheimer’s/ Independent Living Center, eight rural health clinics, Inpatient/Outpatient oncology clinic, 14-county Emergency Medical Response Unit and consultant for community outreach and home health nursing programs. Supervision of two departments with a staff of 30, including technical and clerical personnel. Budget development and financial control for equipment repair, maintenance, and training in excess of $2.5 million annually. Prepare technology assessment evaluations. Recommend and evaluate medical equipment and tele-communications/pager/cell phone, local and long distance purchases. Consultant for telemedicine projects. Review service contracts for all medical devices. Serve as wireless coordinator and FCC contact for licensing. Present nursing and technical in-services.
