Committee Reports Greetings Brothers,
Welcome to the March edition of the BMAC Diamond. I am appealing to all BMAC Brother's to answer the call to service. The election process for Chapter officers will be initiated soon.We need brothers to share their strengths and talents with the Chapter. As a Chapter of over 70 members we cannot continue to lean on a select few brothers to conduct the business of the fraternity. We need brothers to consider roles as Chapter Officers, Assistant Officers and Committee chairman. Our level of achievement as a Chapter is directly related to the level of engagement and commitment we get from our membership. We have only

Kappa League Updates
Guide Right/Kappa League Committee Report February 25, 2017 The Bowie/Mitchellville Kappa League met on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the City of Praise Family Ministries, Inc. The Kappa Leaguers in attendance were: Came ‘Ron Dalton, Jabari Ferrell, Joshua Townes, and Bradley Speed: The Kappa men in attendance were Brothers Leroy Jenkins, Justin Cobb, Lawrence Speed, Hugene Fields, Jr, and Andre Woolford. The Kappa League meeting was called to order by the advisor who discussed the upcoming events for the rest of the Kappa League year as we were waiting for the speaker for the day, Brother Wendell Moore, PhD. The Kappa Leaguers discussed the successes and challenges since the last Kappa League. The Brothers in attendance listened intently and provided some of their life experiences as strategies that the Kappa Leaguers could utilize when dealing with difficult situations. Brother Wendell O. Moore, PhD. provided the Kappa Leaguers with an informative and engaging interactive presentation regarding the various accomplishments of African Americans in the areas of Business, Politics, History, and Entertainment. He also inquired of the Kappa Leaguers as to their future career goals. Brother Moore has the ability of tailoring his presentation to fit the career paths of the Kappa Leaguers. After providing the visual images and background stories of many African American luminaries, he asked the Kappa Leaguers to think about the commonalities that those luminaries shared. He used the dollar bill to share the numerous African influences that have been used or “loosely borrowed” by the Founding Fathers. Brother Moore instructed the Kappa Leaguers of the steps necessary for their future success. His five categories that the Kappa Leaguers needed to improve on are as follows: 1.
Spirituality: Develop a close relationship with God; Read the Bible daily.
2. Mental Fortitude: Keep your mind alert by feeding your brain 3. Financial Awareness: Understand how finances work in your life and avoid the traps that prevent your financial growth. 4. Physical Strength: Take care of your body: Drink plenty of work; eat the right foods; and Exercise Daily. 5. Social Development: Interact with different people who help to broaden your thinking and it exposes you to different perspectives about life. The Kappa League meeting dated February 18, 2017 was an outing to the Reginald F. Lewis Museum in Baltimore, Maryland. The Kappa Leaguers in attendance were Bradley Speed, CameRon Dalton, Linwood Simmons, Justice

Massenburg, and Gregory Robinson, Jr. The Kappa Brothers in attendance were Leroy Jenkins, Lawrence Speed, Justin Cobb, and Andre Woolford. We arrived at the museum at 10:45 AM and at the point, Kappa Leaguers and Kappa Brothers slowly absorbed the African American achievements and successes by residents from the State of Maryland. There was an additional highlight while at the museum, which was a photo exhibit featuring African American fathers and sons. There were colorful pictures of the fathers and sons which highlighted the names of the fathers, their sons’ names; and the fathers’ occupations. Then, there were black and white pictures of the fathers and sons (all dressed in black) with thought-provoking captions below them. Sample questions: Does the way that I wear my hair frighten you? What do you see when you look at me? When you see me in a corporate setting do you ask yourself ‘Why am I here’? Just to name a few. After the museum exhibit, we dined at the museum’s Café for reflection, fun, and fellowship. The Kappa Leaguers were safely returned to their parents by 2:00 P.M. The next scheduled Kappa League meeting will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the City of Praise Family Ministries, Inc. (Academy Building Library). Respectfully submitted: Brother Leroy Jenkins, Chairman

We just finished a successful MTA class for the Fall 2016. As the new brothers continue their growth in the Bond, please keep them encouraged. As we look to the future, please refer any potential candidates to me. I will add them to the database, and invite them to future events. This will give us opportunities to get to know them on a personal level, as well a chance for them to get to know us. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Epsilon Sigma Updates
Brother Walter S. Swindell Polemarch, Bowie/Mitchellville Alumni Chapter February 25th 2017 Dear Brother Polemarch and fellow Brothers, The undergraduate brothers have been focused this past month on community service, preparing for the Spring 2017 MTA session, and maintaining our reputation on the campus. Many of us attended the Undergraduate Leadership Conference where we received motivation to continue to achieve in every area that we steward. This past month brothers served at Larkin Chase Center, a nursing home in Bowie MD. While there we had the opportunity to honor the seniors. We brought games, arts and crafts and food. The seniors thoroughly enjoyed the time they spent with the undergraduate brothers. They shared many of their stories, life lessons and sacrifices they made within their lives. This experience was a true inspiration. In addition, brothers also went to Friendship Blow Pierce Elementary School in NE Washington D.C. While there, they performed a step for the students and hosted a community discussion on the influence of divine 9 organizations in the community. Many of the students expressed interest in joining Kappa League and were inspired to pursue higher education. The Spring 2017 MTA session has recently started. To remain in compliance with the Eastern Province and Grand Chapter, brothers have remained punctual, focused and prepared. We have completed all necessary steps to ensure a successful intake process. In order to maintain our reputation on campus we have strategically created a schedule that commits to community service, collaborations with other student organizations, campus-wide discussions and social events. We have no doubt that we will be able to build upon the momentum and success we established last semester. Yours in the Bond, Rajah A. Hilliard -
