WHO ARE WE? We, the Euro-Filipino Understanding and Relations Organization of the University of the Philippines Diliman (UP EURO), are the premier student organization in the university with the objective of promoting Philippine-European relations through culture, language, education, and cooperation. For more than ten years, our organization has been successful and consistent in executing activities that fulfil our mission.
THE PHILIPPINE SUMMIT ON EUROPEAN STUDIES 2014 The Philippine Summit on European Studies convenes students and specialists of European Studies in the Philippines to discuss pertinent topics that concern different socio-political, economics and cultural issues to a diversified audience. The organization holds this project in association with the Delegation of the European Commission to the Philippines, the UP Department of European Languages, European embassies, cultural centers, and student organizations from various universities.
ASEAN INTEGRATED COMMUNITY 2015: Probing the ASEANEU Dynamics Nations unite with the objective of achieving economic growth, special progress, and cultural development through joint efforts and endeavors. The Philippine Summit on European Studies 2014, with the title, “ASEAN Integrated Community 2015: Probing the ASEAN-EU Dynamics” will delve into the implications of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) on the sectors of politics, economics, and education. It will discuss the projections for economic integration, the enabling of connectivity and synergies for dynamic development, as well as capitalization on technical vocational training and human resources, reviewing how the establishment of these ensures inclusive growth and shared prosperity between Southeast Asian nations. Additionally, it will discuss the parallelisms between the AEC and the European Union, comprehending what a united ASEAN community entails both in terms of opportunities for, and threats to the Philippines.
OPPORTUNITY FOR PARTNERSHIP The Philippine Summit on European Studies will be held on February 22, 2014, Saturday, at the NISMED Auditorium, University of the Philippines, Diliman from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We invite you to come and participate in this event. There will be a fee of Php 160 per participant should they wish to register in advance. The registration fee is inclusive of the Summit Kit, coffee, and a certificate of attendance. All are advised to pre-register for the confirmation of your attendance. An amount of Php 180 will be charged for walk-ins. The registration starts at exactly 8:00 in the morning. Should you wish to partner with us, please see the packages on the next page.
