From the Principal Dear Parents and Guardians, I hope you all are doing well. These last seven weeks have been very productive and filled with growth. I have seen so much pride with our implementation of PBIS. It is exciting to see the students share how many Bluejacket Pride Tickets they have collected. Thank you for the amazing food that was brought to our Thursday night conference. It is so appreciated and is a great example of the outstanding community that we are part of at Isanti Primary School. What a great week to get some extra days off. It should be beautiful this Thursday and Friday so enjoy! Also, take the opportunity to spend some time having your child read to you and your family. It will really help them build confidence and practice their skills. If your child is a beginning reader, have them do a picture walk through and tell you what they see in the illustrations. Sincerely,

Parent Link Some of you have asked, “How can I support my child in their learning from home.” COMPASS is an online support that our district has purchased for our students. If you go to our website you will see the COMPASS short cut on the bottom of the page under Kid’s Corner. Your child has their own login. Feel free to call your child’s teacher for more information about COMPASS.

Food Service Update Every day we are feeding breakfast to a great numbers of students. This is a great way for our students to start the day off ready to learn. Want to know what’s for breakfast or lunch? Access menus at our IPS website under Resources/Family Resources/Lunch Menus or at the bottom of the page under Families/Lunch Menus.

Tips from the Health Office

Mark your calendars!!! November is chock full of opportunities for our families! Fall Reading Night – Friday, November 3rd, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Come dressed in your PJs, bring your favorite stuffed animal, and join us for a night of community leaders and staff reading entertaining books. Enjoy a snack and bring one of your books for the book exchange to get a new book to read!

PTO Meeting – Tuesday, November 7th, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. If you haven’t attended before, please consider joining. We are still looking for a co-president and secretary if you would like to be more involved.

Family Game Night–Thursday, November 16th, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Learn about games you can play at home to increase your child’s math skills with cards and dice (items will be provided to take home) as well as learning about iPad games that are both fun and educational.

Fever Free: Children should be fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication before returning to school. Kindergarten Parents: If you have not turned in your complete immunization record and/or Early Childhood Screening, please turn it in by October 30, 2017. Thank you! Clothes: Occasionally we will need to provide a change of clothes for your child. Please be sure to wash and return these articles as we frequently run out of clothing options. Also, primary school sized clothing donations are welcomed and appreciated. Medications: Controlled substances and overthe-counter medications should be brought in by a parent. For medications that will be taken at home and at school, request the pharmacy provide two bottles/containers of medication.

Weather Reminders No more flip flop weather…. Because of the mild weather we have been having, this is a reminder that colder weather is right around the corner. We love going outside for recess (feels like temp above zero is the rule) and we want our students fully prepared for the changing weather. Please make sure your child has the needed outdoor clothing to keep them warm and comfortable for the time of year.

For the Calendar Wednesday, Nov. 8: Picture re-take day!! PTO Events: See above. Fundraiser: Fundraiser pickup is Wednesday, November 15 from 2:45–5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Attendance Line Remember, if your child will be absent or late you need to call our 24-hour attendance line. Please call that line when you know your child will be absent, even if it’s in the middle of the night. We do check that line before 8:00 a.m. each day. The number is: 763-691-8770. For an attendance to be considered “excused” we must have a call or a note to the office and teacher explaining the absence. Thanks!
