ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Berkeley, sealed bids for a lump sum Contract are invited for the following work: Morgan Hall 2nd Floor Laboratory Renovation – Casework and Equipment Design/Build Project Number 12690A UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY Estimated construction cost: $200,000 DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The detailed design, fabrication and installation of laboratory casework, fume hoods and other laboratory accessories for three (3) laboratory rooms on the 2nd floor. BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS: To allow the University to evaluate bidders, each bidder must submit with its bid, a Contractor’s Special Statement of Experience. This Contractor’s Special Statement of Experience must be provided on the Contractor’s letterhead. If your firm provides inaccurate or incomplete information your firm will be found non-responsive. If your firm receives negative project references they may be found non-responsive. To be eligible for consideration of award, the Contractor’s Special Statement of Experience must include: Documentation that the bidder has successfully completed the following: 1. A minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) projects completed in the past seven (7) years that meet the criteria listed below and demonstrate the bidder’s ability to successfully complete the project with respect to project size, cost, use, complexity, etc. DO NOT include projects currently under construction. 2. All submitted projects must be within the immediate nine Bay Area counties. 3. Submitted projects should be for casework with a construction value of $200,000 or greater. 4. Include the following for each project: (a) project name, (b) owner’s name, (c) contract value at award, (d) total Change Order value, (e) completion date, (f) Owner’s Representative address and current phone number and (g) brief scope. 2. All Lab Renovation projects on all UC Campuses within the last 5 years. 3. Statement must include the following declaration: I,

Bid Deadline: Sealed bids must be received on or before 1:00PM, November 7nd, 2017 Bids will be opened at: 1:02PM, November 7, 2017, at CAPITAL PROJECTS, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY, 1936 University Avenue, Rm 222, Berkeley, CA 94704. MANDATORY PRE-BID JOB WALK: A mandatory Pre-Bid Job Walk will be conducted on Monday, October 23rd, 2017 beginning promptly at 10:00am. Only bidders who participate in the Job Walk will be allowed to bid on the Project as prime contractors. Participants shall meet at Morgan Hall, Room 120. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: The successful Bidder will be required to have the following State of California Contractor's License current at the time of submission of the Bid: “C-6” Cabinet, Millwork and Finish Carpentry Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work as that term is defined in section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded any portion of this project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1 . This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $14 per hour as of 10/1/16, and $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
