The Different Way of Doing Things

Anime

Dog Days follow the story of Shinku

Izumi, an extrovert boy that is the living embodiment of the word “hyperactive”. Shinku Izumi is a normal middle school student. Well, maybe not so normal, as he is not satisfied with the walls of everyday life, Izumi is eager to prove himself and get his hands dirty on something.

On the world of Flonyard, things aren’t turning out so well for the Kingdom of the Biscotti Republic. The country has been losing out on wars and forced into a dead end, the princess/queen of the country has no choice but to summon the “legendary warrior” to aid them in battles. Thus Izumi is dragged into the alternate world of Flonyard and hereof begins his adventure as the champion of Biscotti. At first, the story was just those typical boys live through everyday life, got through inter-dimensional gate, changes his life, surrounded by girls routine. But when the princess starts to explain the “rules” of the war, there’s when things starts to get interesting. Countries in the world of Flonyard “war” by challenging the defending country on an obstacle course complete with guards, projectiles,

mazes etc… (According to the princess that summoned Izumi on his first briefing, the citizens will be VERY UPSET if they lose) The interesting thing about the world is as long as the people do battle in designated areas, they will not receive fatal damage, instead they will deform into fluffy balls with faces. What kills the scene more than flying fluffy balls appearing everywhere every time an attack is executed? These setting are just a tip of an iceberg of how much fun the anime can bring to the table. In overall, dog days is a light comedy with plenty of things to make fun of, that’s totally different from being funny, because being funny in this sense means that its so incomprehensible, it has lots of settings that are downright impossible to keep your face straight after knowing them. Therefore I would recommend people with a few extra sense of humor to watch this and share it with their friends.

Japan Disaster Never too young to help

Ever since the news about the Tsunami and

Earthquake in Japan reached our shores, people have been contacting friends and family over in the affected areas for their news of safety. Not everyone is lucky to have escaped the disaster without harm, especially those in the affected areas. Also, the damage the tsunami and earthquake left behind was devastating. In order to aid those who are in need, rescue efforts and drives to aid the victims have emerged globally. People are doing all that they can to help aid the victims and this includes children.

The children of Little Bunny Daycare here in USJ 6 have risen up to the occasion as well. Their parents who are aware of the situation have decided to lend a helping hand by participating in our JADC’s charity drive “Our Heart For Japan” by purchasing our T shirts. Now all the children at that center have a T shirt each. It is never too young or too old to help those in need. Our hearts go out to the victims of the disaster in Japan.
