“Macroeconomic indicators have significantly improved since February-March and economic growth in March reached 3.4%,” – Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Dimitry Kumsishvili stated to the journalists. “The overestimated negative expectations, which the market had are now annulled due to the government’s correct policy. We can see new working places and we can witness the real growth in the economy, which is reflected on our families. This year we will surely achieve the annual forecast. Although it is too early to comment about it, but economic growth in April will be more than significant and we expect the similar positive indicators in the following months as well,”- Vice Prime Minister stated. According to Dimitry Kumsishvili, there is a positive dynamic in other macroeconomic indicators as well. For example, the national currency as stabilized by almost 11%, inflation ratio, which still was within the acceptable range, is decreased. The interest rates on the Treasury securities are also significantly reduced, which indicates that the long-term confidence in the economy is restored. In February and March, we have a real export growth. Tourism growth is 16%. The number of money transfers from other countries is increased as well. It is likely that economic growth will be even more significant in the following months.
