ABOUT STES Sinhgad Technical Education Society (STES) was established in August 1993 under the dynamic leadership of Prof. M. N. Navale with an objective of providing quality education in the fields of Engineering, Management, Medical, Pharmacy, Architecture, Hotel Management, Science, Commerce and the basic school education. There are more than 117 institutes under the aegis of STES offering full-fledged school education, Diploma, Graduation, Post-Graduationand Ph.D. programs in various branches of Engineering, Science and Management at twelve educational campuses ideally located in pollution free lush green and picturesque environment conducive for learning. ABOUT SIT Sinhgad Institute of Technology, established in 2004 is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, approved by AICTE. The vision of the college is to inculcate the spirit of high ambitions through value based technical education in the students. The institute is housed in beautiful surroundings, fully residential campus of 160 acres. The institute works on an activity plan and students feedback. Sinhgad Institute of Technology, one of the fastest growing engineering college in Maharashtra, offers under Graduate course in Mechanical Engineering, Computer engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and Post Graduate Courses in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Engineering, apart from MBA and MCA courses. The Department of Mechanical Engineering started in the year 2004 with an intake of 60. Presently with an intake of 360 at UG course and 18 at PG course with experienced dedicated resource persons. The department has state-of-art laboratories to meet the demands of present day international scenario. HOW TO REACH SIT College is located in Lonavala which is 4 Km from railway station and 5 Km from bus stand. It is at a distance of 50 Km from Pune and 90 Km from Mumbai, located on Mumbai- Pune expressway. It is very popular hill station in western part of Maharashtra. The atmosphere in Lonavala is quite pleasant to stay especially during rainy season. Also, nearby national airports are Mumbai and Pune.

About the STTP: The objective of this STTP is to Share the knowledge of recent trends in Renewable energies particularly Solar, Wind and biofuel. It focuses about the latest technological advancement that took place in India. Detail about the latest applications will also be discussed at this event. This will help to get the participants more informed and will also help to become more skillful for research work on Renewable Energy.

STTP WILL FOCUS ON FOLLOWING AREAS:

Topics within the scope of the STTP include the following areas, but not limited to  Renewable energy sources (RES): Concepts, Status and recent trends in RES.  Scope for Research and Challenges in RES.  Applicability of Solar, Wind and hydro energy for power generation.  Government Initiatives and promotions of new and Renewable Energy Resource.  Solar photovoltaics and thermal energy storage.  Solar-wind Hybrid system development and applications.  Instrumentation related to RES plant.  Erection of new RES plant and costing aspects.  Alternative fuels -Biodiesel production, storage and plant design.  Mini and major projects on renewable energy sources.
