PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT The Department of Education (DOE), through the Division of Special Education, will be submitting the Part C Federal Fiscal Year 2012 Grant Application, with the Guam Part C State Plan, Revised policies under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to the US Department of Education on or before April 16, 2012 Part C – Special Education Grants for Infants/Toddlers & Families

Pursuant to section 427 of the GEPA and the IDEA Part C Regulations, DOE is publicly disseminating and making available the written policies for at least 60-day period in review. In addition, there will be a 30-day period for public comment as outlined below: (60) day Public Availability Period (30) day Public Comment Period Public Hearings
January 30, 2012 – March 30, 2012 February 18, 2012 – March 19, 2012 March 10, 2012 – 9am to 11am (site: TBA) March 14, 2012 - 6pm to 8pm (site: Sinajana Community Center)
Beginning January 30, 2012, interested parties may visit Guam Early Intervention System website at www.gdoe.net/geis or www.gdoe.net/special-education-, under grants and reports Guam Department of Education to download the grant application. Hardcopies of the grant application will also be available for pickup on the above date for the duration of the public availability period at the Division of Special Education Office, Chief Brodie Memorial Elementary School, Room #1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday, except legal holidays. Grant applications may also be requested in alternate formats. Please contact the GEIS Office for these requests at ph.# 300-5776/5816. Beginning February 18, 2012 persons interested in providing public comment to the grant applications may submit their comments in writing during the (30) day Public Comment Period to the Assistant Superintendent of Special Education utilizing any of the following methods. •
