Decision of the Management Board On the appointment of the accounting officer of the European Medicines Agency THE MANAGEMENT BOARD, HAVING REGARD to Regulation (EC) No 726/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council, and in particular Article 66 thereof, HAVING REGARD to the Financial Regulation applying to the Agency, and in particular Article 50 thereof, WHEREAS: The management board shall appoint an accounting officer, covered by the Staff Regulations, who shall be totally independent in the performance of his or her duties. HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:
Article 1 Ms Paola Samassa, Temporary Agent, is appointed as Accounting Officer of the European Medicines Agency. A copy of the appointment will be placed on Ms Samassa's personal file.
Article 2 The appointed Accounting Officer shall acknowledge the Charter for the Accounting Officer and apply the Financial Regulation of the Agency and in particular Title IV, Chapter 2 and 3 and Title IX.
Article 3 This decision shall take effect from 1st April 2017 and repeals the previous appointment of Mr M. Lenihan as the Agency's Accounting Officer (EMA/MB/124276/2012). Done at London, 16 March 2017 [Signature on file]
