School Board Niles Township District 219, Cook County, Illinois MINUTES Finance Committee Meeting of the Whole Thursday, December 3, 2009

I. Call to Order and Roll Call Board President Robert Silverman called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. Board members present at Roll Call: Sheri Doniger, Carlton Evans, Jeffrey Greenspan, Ruth Klint, Robert Silverman, Lynda smith, Eileen Valfer. Administration present at the meeting: Robert Freeman, Dr. Gatta, John Heintz, Susan Husselbee, Pete Marcelo, Paul O’Malley, Kaine Osburn, Anne Roloff, Jim Szczepaniak, Dale Vogler. II. Opening Remarks Dr. Gatta stated the reason for the meeting was to discuss administration’s recommendations for program cuts which would result in 1.85% cut in total dollars for FY 2010-11. She outlined the recommended plan for projections and restructuring. She stated that by 2012 expenditures would exceed revenue. III. Summary of Discussion The Board was appreciative of the advance notice and chance to discuss the recommendations prior to a regular Board Meeting. Concerns included the rigor of classes and electives to ensure that Niles Township remains competitive when we are profiled by colleges. IV. Consensus of the Meeting It was moved by SMITH and seconded by DONIGER to put administration’s recommendations for restructuring under Business at the December 14, 2009 Board of Education meeting. A roll call was taken. Voting Aye: Doniger, Evans, Greenspan, Klint, Smith, Silverman, Valfer. The motion carried. V. Adjournment It was moved by SMITH and seconded by DONIGER to adjourn the meeting. Voting Aye: Doniger, Evans, Greenspan, Klint, Smith, Silverman, Valfer. The motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
