December 2017 Our Students Welcome back Bobcat families! I would like to thank all of our families for graciously donating to the Share Your Christmas Food Drive. We appreciate you supporting our Student Council and sponsors Mrs. Selina Medina and Ms. Britney Baker in making this year a success. Total food items collected over 2,500 canned goods and other nonperishable items. The classroom with the most items is Ms. Bishop’s Third Grade Class. Student Council sponsored a contest for the “most creative decorated” Share Your Christmas collection box. The winning class is Mrs. Ware’s Grade 5 classroom. The 30th Annual Share Your Christmas live broadcast will be on Friday, December 8th.
Science Fair All Science Fair projects are due December 1st. The campus Science Fair will be held on Thursday, December 7th. Report Cards Report Cards will be going home with your child on Friday, December 1st along with the grade level newsletter. PTA is hosting the annual Holiday Make and Take craft night on December 12th from 5:30-7:00 pm. All PTA members are invited to participate. New members are welcome to still join at $6.00 per member on the evening of the event. Grade levels and staff will have beautiful themed baskets for a silent auction.
Attendance Students who are in class and ready to learn daily will be able to be part of our attendance incentives beginning on Monday, November 27th. Attendance is a vital part to academics. When your child is present, they are learning. When your child is absent, it is difficult to return to school and catch up on what has been missed. We understand that all children become ill at times, but please make attendance a priority when possible. Please contact the campus office at 878-2520 if your child will be out sick or for an appointment. Students must bring a note upon returning to school after being absent so that we have proper documentation.
Cell Phones: Cell phones are a part of our lives for entertainment and safety. To keep students on track, cell phone use in the morning prior to the start of school will be limited. Headphones/earbuds are requested to be worn when used in the hallway waiting for the day to start. If headphones/earbuds are not used, the student will be asked to turn off their cell phone. If the student refuses to comply, the cell phone will be picked up and held in the office until the end of the day. Cafeteria Current lunch menus are located on the CCISD website at www.ccisd.us. If you are coming by to eat lunch and want to order a tray, please contact the school cafeteria at 878-2520.
Thank you for ensuring that your child is in school every day! Zonia Lopez Principal
