COUNCILLOR’S MESSAGE This week at City Hall has been very much about the 2014 Budget and Transportation. On Monday, the Transit Commission recommended the portions of the Transportation Master Plan which deal with Transit to Council. On Tuesday, we passed portions of the Budget at the Finance and Economic Development Committee meeting. We also gave the go ahead to the renewed Arts Court project. On Wednesday, we passed the Transportation Budget at Committee th and forwarded it on to full City Council. On November the 15 , the Transportation Committee will consider the Transportation Master Plan; public delegations are welcome. Outside of City Hall, Kristen and I visited the Knox United Church Bazaar and helped to serve lunch. What a great group of volunteers. Congratulations on another successful event. Monday evening, I attended a meeting hosted by Minto Group at Sir Robert Borden High School. The meeting dealt with the proposed stacked town home development on Craig Henry Drive. The details of the project can be found at the following link: http://app01.ottawa.ca/postingplans/appDetails.jsf;jsessionid=B562B FFBBBDC59A1F9F22B4167DD458A?lang=en&appId=__9UQOL9. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Tuesday evening, it was my privilege to be invited to attend the Candlelight Tribute in support of the 2013 Veteran’s Week at the Centrepointe Theatre. It was a very moving and well attended ceremony. Wednesday evening, I was happy to go to the Trend Arlington Community Association Annual General Meeting (AGM), and I very much look forward to their craft sale which is on Saturday November th 16 . Thursday, I was excited to visit the Annual Christmas Craft Fair at the Nepean Sportsplex. I may be a little biased, but I think it is one of the best in the City. Once again, it did not disappoint. It has a great th selection of food and gifts, and is running until Sunday November 10 . Later that day, I had a meet and greet with some senior residents on Viewmount Drive. It was great to be out in the community meeting residents, answering questions and hearing ideas. Until next week, Keith
