Continuity and Change over Time When we are asked to identify continuity and change over time, we are being asked to identify important events from a time period and the significant continuities and changes these events indicate. Normally these events are centered on a specific theme with defined start and end dates within a period of American history. When identifying continuity and change over time, there is almost always a significant change within the time period under investigation. We need to be sure to also identify the significant continuities. 1. Write at least 10 specific and significant events (with year and in chronological order) for the given time period; be sure the chosen events help identify the important continuity and change that occurs during this time period
