Dear comrades and friends in the progressive, workers and communist parties Greetings from Beirut The Lebanese Communist Party held its congress on April 22-23-24, 2016 concluding the local congresses held across the party. The congress constituted an important step in deepening the political, economic and organizational levels, and also in strengthening the democratic process inside the party. The congress concluded by electing a new Central Committee that reflected the composition of our party with diverse sectorial, professional and age composition. The CC soon convened and elected comrade Hanna Gharib as the General Secretary of our party and a new Political Bureau. The new leadership was mandated for two main tasks: First, to prepare for the twelfth congress in a maximum of three years and develop the party’s political and ideological documents and second to lead the party during this transitional period.
