WORKSHOPS Misogynoir: This workshop will delve into the experiences of those who identify as black and womyn. Being a black womyn in Canada is double jeopardy as you are oppressed by both patriarchy and racism. It is an intersectional battle that has happened for generations and may continue for the foreseeable future. How can one learn who to empower from those who came before and how can they empower and help guide those to come tomorrow? Black Masculinity: This workshop will explore the many nuances that exist in the experience of those who identify as black and male. Being a black male in Canada is paradox as you are both oppressor and oppressed. Generations before have navigated through this melanin coated terrain and though times are different the struggle remains. How can we learn from our predecessors and what will be the legacy we leave for those to come? Queer Identities: This workshop will explore the various nuances of those who identify as black and Queer. Being black and queer is being the embodiment of a multitude of oppression. One faces homophobia, Transphonbia, and has heteronormative values imposed on them, while battling racism and many other forms of oppression. How can one navigate through life with these systems of oppression standing on their back ? How did those who came before us live through this experience what advice will we leave for those who too will battle one day ?

Workshops Bridging the gap between generational wealth: As a black person you are oppressed in so many ways and your parental figures are likely to have faced varying levels of oppression.
