Kind attention is invited to the minutes of NFIR's PNM agendaitem No. 18/2016and Railway Board's referencescited above. Railway Board have since issued instructions granting exemption from the condition of minimum 5 yearsservicefor transferin the following situations:basis, "(a) Transferssoughton mutual exchange (b) Transfers sought on spouseground, (c) Railway servantswho are care-giversto a disabledchild and (d) PhysicallyhandicappedRailway servants. In this connection,NFIR brings to the notice of the Railway Board that the former Defence Forcespersonnelwho joined Railways through recruitmentprocessare also facing serioushardships as their placesof working are far away from the placesof their residenceconsequentlymany such staffare away from their families.
