Community Organizer The Community Organizer oversees the YP-CDN platform, develops the strategy for recruitment of new members. He/she coordinates in- person meetings (Third Thursdays, regional meetings) and webinars for the members, and opportunities for member engagement both online and in civic action. The Community Organizer regularly checks-in with members and engages depending on their level of interest. Term: 1 year, renewable. Volunteer. Reports to: Executive Director, and works closely with the Communication Director Roles & Responsibilities: • Communicator. Bridge between YP-CDN and the community, whether planned or crisis communication, highlighting emerging issues and providing strong governance o Provide welcome message to new members of the YP-CDN and provide connections to other YP-CDN members based on joining members’ stated interests or local geography o Ensure member provides introduction to the global community o Conversation starter and referee in community discussions/debates o Member support: answering directly or providing a forum and process to solve member problems •

Coordinator. o Oversee 3T project coordinators (who will help be liaison to the local leaders in cities worldwide organizing local efforts) o Lead or assist with coordination of civic actions (rallies, media articles etc) with global or local leaders for YPCDN priority campaigns o Assist ED in organizing the annual conference

o Coordinate online or offline events (e.g. webinars, regional YP meetings) and foster sense of community) •

Research filter/metrics provider. Synthesizing community feedback information and analytics and make actionable insight that the leadership team can react to. (3 part series about community metrics, check out 1, 2, and 3) o Survey, map and inventory existing membership to develop profiles via www.ghdonline.org and encourage collaboration o Develop a network map of the YP-CDN network based on existing profiles (by interests, by geographic location, by affiliation)

Network Mapping: using www.ghdonline.org and www.ypchronic.org, map out all members by name, contact information, country of origin, organizational affiliation (public sector, private sector or NGO). Update biannually.

Creator and Distributor. Developing strategies to increase member engagement, interaction and recruitment

YP Ambassador. Exhibiting a passion for YPCDN and the movement, a walking role model of the type of people we want to attract

Qualifications • Interest in Online Marketing or Development • Maintains excellent writing and language skills, as well as strong understanding of the “voice” of YPCDN • Inherently social and outgoing persona • Understands the 90/9/1 rule and how to actively appreciate and engage each one of those demographics • Strong understanding of online forums desirable (Reddit, Quora, YCombinator News) • Ability to work independently as well as part of a remote team • Desire to connect and convene members that may benefit one another through the network To Apply: Please send CV and any relevant links to prior work available online with the subject line Community Organizer to [email protected]
