HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY
3rd May, 2018
The main business of the day was a Report on DTAC by PE Esterlynne and Rtn Taale and a draft budget presentation for the next rotary year by RTN Abbiw.
The meeting was called to order by RP Oscar. Time: 7.00pm Venue: African Regent Hotel, Accra Object of Rotary – Rtn Dan 1 Rotary Information- Rtn Katanka(RI Convention in Toronto). There would be an interactive webinar on the Toronto convention on May 23. 2018 at 11 am Chicago time. Issues to be discussed include the programme line up of the convention, what to wear, how to find your way around and how to connect with friends. Link to the webinar will be posted on Club whatsapp group page by Rtn Kantanka. Fellowship song: PP Harris
PE Esterlynne and Rtn Taale reported and illustrated with a PowerPoint presentation that though there were a few accommodation challenges initially for some Rotarians, the DTAC was very educative and largely successful. They mentioned that they gained a lot of rotary knowledge and strategies that will enable them carry out their duties in the coming year. They also congratulated Rtn Mercy for once again representing the club at the event. Rtn Abbiw presented the draft budget for the next rotary year to the club, which was met with dissatisfaction by some members. He however explained that the incoming BOD was still working to fine tune the budget, and would re-present it at the upcoming club assembly for discussions.

Discussions on poor attendance and dwindling membership at new provisional club and how ALE can be more supportive. DGSR Maria is to prepare a report on the New club and submit to club before club assembly on the 25th of May, to give a clear picture of the state of affairs. Letter to be sent to Ayawaso coordinating Director for permit to mount Bus stop Shed. Programme for the rest of the rotary year will be posted on club WhatsApp group page.

Club assembly slated for 25th May at RP Oscars residence. PE Esterlynne presented a Bannerette from the district to the club represented by PP Harris, for 100% sustaining membership for 2016-2017 rotary year. PP Richard also presented the club with a bannerette from Rotary Club of Bourne St Peter. RP presented a cash donation of Ghc500 to James( African Reagent Waiter), as the clubs contribution towards his preparations for the 2 funerals he had been saddled with. The very grateful James promised to serve the Rotary Club of ALE till we leave African Reagent Hotel.
