As alreadyclarified vide (2) above,it is againreiteratedfu underth, .*1i., system, examinationcouid not be conductedevery year leadingto a largenumbero1-vacanciesin *re cadr6 of SO/ISA/TIA. In order to prouid. candidatesopportunity''to appearand passthe examination,it was decidedto hold a combinedsingleexaminationso that the examinationis held,eyeryyear.

Prior to 1997when AppendixIII examinationwasheld as a singleexamination,merit exemption was granted on securing 6A% marks or more. Subsequently1999 onwards that in examinationwas held-in two parts.It was vide RBA No. 58/2006dated611112006 additionto merit exemption,on passingPart-I examination,exemptionwas also grantedfor two attemptsin the next two consecutlve appearingin Part I examinationdurihgffid'successive ' examinations. 1 '' As per the cuffent notification dated3.3.2015 decisionhas been taken to revert to the old pattern of a single examination wherein merit exemption on securing 60% marks or more is retained.In addition becauseof changein patternin the currentexaminationi.e. 2015,to protect the interest of the candidates 'one-time exemption' has also been granted for candidateswho have passedlast two examinationsi.e. 2010 & 2012.As such,with restorationof earlierpattern of examination, corresponding principle of exemption is also restored, duly protecting the interestof the candidatesin the current transition as well,
