Volunteer Position Description Position Title: Child Life Activity Assistant Safe Harbor Staff Supervisor: Child Life Specialist Position Description We need a warm, welcoming person to make our clients feel comfortable when they enter our office. This person should also enjoy organizing, be a bit of a self-starter, and be ok with times when there are no tasks to do. The main objective of the Child Life Activity Assistant volunteer is to provide a healing, non-intimidating, developmentally supportive play environment for our clients. Volunteers also work with the administrative team to take care of everyday tasks that happen in our office such as greeting and directing visitors and answering phone calls. They also may help with special projects such as document organization, research, and completing fundraising tasks. NOTE: Canopy Center and Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center share office space. Maintain and inventory playroom art materials,

Time Commitment
Qualifications: General
Minimum 3 months (one semester)
Prefer one year
2 to 2.5 hours per shift each week at a regularly scheduled time between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Be at least 18 years old
Open availability during stated shift time
Complete a Volunteer Application, clear a
background check, and attend a volunteer interview Be able to complete trainings specific to the volunteer position
Ability to get to and from office via personal or public transportation
Qualifications: Position Specific
Convey an attitude of acceptance, sensitivity, and caring demeanor
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a team and independently with little supervision
Excellent Organizations Skills
Professional phone skills
Maintain confidentiality in matters relating to client/family.
Interact with client/families with a variety of developmental and sociocultural backgrounds.
Maintain professional relationships and convey relevant information to other members of the staff
