CISCO – Project Ideas – Summer Internship -- 2011 Project Title 1: Running 3G USB (under Linux) on the second core of a Transformers platform interfacing to IOS Project Description: We have Cisco routers that have dual core processors on it. Would like to enable the 2nd core to run Linux and on top of that get a 3rd Party 3G USB and port that linux driver to run on the 2nd core. Once this is done, we need to create a path between IOS & Linux for communication, so that it can be a WAN port of IOS (just like any other port).
Project Title 2: Running a core banking application as a POC on AXP Project Description: We have Cisco routers that have dual core processors on it. Would like to enable the 2nd core to run Linux and on top of that get a core banking application from TCS and port it over to run on Linux. Once the application is up and running the path from IOS to Linux is established so that one can process the core banking application.
Project Title 3: Integration of GPS system of Bills along with third party s/w for mobile end points Project Description: Today Bills (Cisco Project name) has a GPS device that is built in. We are in talks with a 3rd party s/w agent that reside in IOS and is able to extract the GPS data and provide it to this 3rd party s/w, to be able to access the coordinates. Opportunity to also work on a set of rules that need to programmed into Bills. Based on the output from 3rd party s/w, we take the programmed action based on the rules. Like for ex., send SMS to a number, when coordinates match.
Project Title 4: RFQ to Feature Navigator mapping tool to help customers Project Description: Given a list of features supported in IOS (output from Feature Navigator) and a RFQ, needs to fill in the RFQ response column. Build a DB with all features and build the rules to map the RFQ entries to Feature Navigator entries. And based on these generate the response column of the RFQ.
Project Title 5: Framework and logging system for CTP Project Description: 1. An integrated help system from solutions database. 1. Software usage information logging system. 2. A framework to upload this data to server.
