Choice Enrollment Information Excel Academy follows Jefferson County’s School Board Policy for choice enrollment. Students accepted for choice enrollment may be enrolled at Excel Academy in the grades served by the school. Excel Academy serves Kindergarten through 8th grade and once enrolled, a student is not required to reapply.

Once accepted, the following documents are required in order to continue the enrollment process: Proof of Residency (i.e. a recent utility bill) Birth Certificate for students enrolling in Kindergarten or any student new to Jeffco schools o Immunization records o Excel Enrollment Packet o o
Enrollment Criteria Enrollment is open and tuition-free to any child in grades 1st-8th. Our Kindergarten program is structured as a full-day program and, as with most public kindergarten programs, there is a required monthly tuition. Excel Academy meets all Federal laws, and constitutional provisions prohibiting discrimination on the basis of disability, race, color, age, creed, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, ancestry, or disability.
First Round Choice Enrollment Applications for First Round Choice Enrollment are accepted beginning on January 8th through January 31st at 4:00 pm for 2018-2019 school year. A separate application must be completed and submitted for each child.
Round One applications are prioritized through a lottery process; all first round applications must be submitted by January 31st at 4:00 pm in order to be a part of the lottery. Students are accepted on a space available basis. Prioritized wait lists are created if the number of applicants exceeds the space available. If a student is not offered a spot during the First Round Choice Enrollment period, the student remains on the prioritized wait list.
Second Round Choice Enrollment We will begin accepting Second Round Choice Enrollment forms on February 9, 2018. Applications submitted during the Second Round period will be added to the wait list that was created from the first round choice applicants who did not receive a class space. Second round applications are received on a first-come, first-served basis. We maintain all wait lists until October 1st of every year. We do not accept new students after October 1st. Available openings in all grades K-8 are offered in the following prioritized order:
Children of Current Excel Academy Faculty Siblings of Excel Academy Students Jeffco School District Resident Applicants Non-Jeffco Applicants
Notifying Applicant For the Frist Round application period, the school will begin calls to offer enrollment openings on February 1st. The Round One applicants have priority over applicants applying during Round Two. If an opening becomes available, applicants shall be notified by phone or email and will be given 48 hours to verbally accept or decline the space. Upon verbal agreement, an Enrollment Packet shall be emailed or can be picked up by the parent. Parents with students on the annual prioritized wait list are welcome to check in with the office on a regular basis regarding the movement of their student’s name on the list.
