China Journal of Social Work CALL FOR PAPERS Editors in Chief Professor Angelina W. K. YUEN, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, HKSAR Professor Sibin WANG, Peking University, China
Aims and Scope Social work as an academic discipline was re-reintroduced to universities on the Chinese Mainland in the 1980s. The number of universities offering social work programs has increased dramatically in the past two decades. Social services provided by government organizations and NGOs have also proliferated as a response to rising social problems and needs. China Journal of Social Work endeavours to provide a platform for scholars within and outside of the Chinese Mainland to share research, teaching and practice experiences and to facilitate critical dialogue between Chinese social workers and their international peers. Below are some examples of recently published articles that reflect the aims and scope of our publication:
Mui, A. (2010) Productive Aging in China: a Human Capital Perspective, July-November. Zhu, J. S. (2010) Tackling the Challenges of Health Care Financing in China, April. Chen, T. (2009) Social Workers as Conflict Mediator: Lessons from the Wenchuan Earthquake, November. Lai, F. and Tong, T. (2009) Social Work in Hong Kong: From Professionalization to ‘Reprofessionalization’, July. Robinson, J. and Perkins, D. (2009) Social Development Needs Assessment in China: Lessons from an International Collaborative Field School in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, April.
