Child Development Theorists or Cultural Birthing/Care Handout that need to be signed by parents: • Course Syllabus – course expectations • Reality Works Baby Packet Textbooks - “Children: The Early Years” You cannot take a textbook out of the classroom. If you need to take a textbook home, you can check one out from the Media Center. Please leave all textbooks in the classroom. Materials Needed for Class • Folder or three-ring binder • Notebook/paper • Pencil/blue or black pen Classroom Expectations 1. You are expected to be on time and in the classroom when the bell rings. The school tardy policy will be followed. 2. You are expected to have all materials needed for class each day. 3. Class assignments are turned in/checked by the end of the day. 4. If you are absent, you are responsible for your missed work. 5. Each student will receive limited passes to use throughout the trimester for the bathroom/locker. Passes will only be given at appropriate times (ex. work time). Passes will

not be given while I am giving directions, presenting information in front of the class or during videos. 6. You are expected to be in your assigned seats at all times, unless instructed to move. Please sharpen you pencil or get out of your seat at appropriate times. 7. Be respectful of the classroom and classroom materials. If you use classroom materials, please make sure to return them to the correct storage area before leaving class. 8. Be respectful! Raise your hand to ask a question. Use appropriate language in our classroom. Please pay attention during presentations, discussions, and videos. 9. Have fun! Cheating If I receive papers with the same answers or physically see people copying other people’s papers, both parties will receive “no credit” on that assignment. Do not let friends copy your completed assignments. Cheating is prohibited and will result in a “zero.” “CHT” will appear as a grade on Genesis and you will not be able to make up those points. Cell Phones, iPods, Hats and Jackets - Please leave cell phones, hats and jackets in your locker or out of sight. - iPods players will be confiscated if used at inappropriate times. - Cell phones are not allowed in class. If you need to use the phone, ask me and I will allow you to use the classroom phone. 1st Offense – Your cell phone will be confiscated and handed back at the end of the hour 2nd Offense – Your cell phone will be confiscated and turned into the office Late Work • Assignments/Daily Work and Projects - After the “Late Work Due Date” no credit will be given for those assignments.
