Garfield County School District No. 16 may honor a maximum of 7 years of full-time, verifiable teaching experience for initial salary placement, which does NOT include student teaching or short/long term substitute teaching. 2. Only graduate credit hours earned from an accredited college or university, after a degree and teaching certificate/license are conferred, count for initial salary placement and educational advancement. 3. Official transcripts must be received by September 1st of each school year for horizontal advancement. The business department must approve exceptions to the timeline for the receipt of transcripts.
