California’s employment and unemployment data for January will be released on Friday, March 3 NOTE TO EDITORS: As in previous years, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) issues a benchmarked employment data series with its release of January data. This is an annual revision process in which monthly labor force and payroll employment by industry estimates are updated. Because of the additional tasks surrounding the benchmarking process, California and all other states issue employment data at a later date than in a typical month. The release of California labor force and industry employment data for January will occur on Friday, March 3. The release of California labor force and industry employment data for February will occur on Friday, March 24.
