Any other business at the discretion of the Chairman Kathleen Martin requested an update following an article in the Tivyside, stating that the Town Council had concerns with the project. Mark Cole explained that the Trust had met with the Council to discuss any queries raised. KM went on to thank all the Staff who have worked on the project, and was sorry that the staff review might lead to some redundancies. Delyth Wyn Jones requested that a public meeting should be held in order that local people could be made aware of what is happening at the Castle. Cris Tomos went on to explain that a Marketing Company, Equinox Communications, has been recently appointed by the Trust and they will be arranging a public meeting in early 2015. Cadwgan BPT and Cardigan Castle Enterprises – The question was raised as to what is the relationship between the two entities. Cardigan Castle Enterprises is responsible for carrying out the commercial activities on site (for instance, the café, shop and accommodation) but all profits are donated to Cadwgan BPT, the charity, in order to support and sustain the important heritage displays and cultural activities that the castle will offer. This structure, which is normal for a charitable site, ensures that no tax is payable. Congratulations were given to Jann Tucker, on her appointment as MBE for services to heritage in Ceredigion. Meifis Griffiths thanked all Trustees and Volunteers for their hard work over the years. There being no other business, the meeting closed at 6.15 pm.
