Marilyn seconds. No discussion. All in favor. Motion passes. Communications 1. Principal’s Report. John reported. His summary is included in Board packet. School attendance is great. We are only 6 short of full enrollment. Most Charters as well as ours has the very high, and the very needy. John is working with each teacher to help the students at their own level. Has polled staff to determine the needs of the staff in regards to technology. Will meet with MCOE staff member Martine Cisneros to get recommendations. Discussion around Science and Soc Studies textbooks. Alicia maybe to provide more insight. We called her: Science rep won’t give us anything. Delta Science is $479 a kit, and you purchase per child. History and Soc Science by Scott Foresman. 2. Director Reports a. Matt – met with technology side last weekend. David Breedlove, Chris Pritchard, Matt. Planning on going live Nov 18th. b. Cathy – update on fingerprinting Action Items 1. Budget Update – There is accuracy against the bank statement, but we need to have more accurate reporting and adopt a revised budget. Bill mentioned that some of the lawyer bills could go towards the start-‐up grant. All in favor, none apposed. Motion passes. 2. CVO – By-‐laws approved. Meet once a month on Tuesdays. Name will now be Parent Organization (PO). Our Box Tops cannot be accepted until we are accredited. 3. Volunteer policy -‐ reviewed the document. More questions came up about how long it will take to get our own fingerprinting database created. More research will be needed before any decisions can be made. 4. Free and Reduced Lunch – received the health department certificate. Will mail the package to Sacramento on Saturday. 5. Weekly Star – it will be approved online. Cecile will take it over.
