Media Release (For Immediate Release) November 15, 2017 The Alberta Sport Development Centre – Central (ASDC-C) is pleased to announce that the ASDC-Central Male Athlete of the Month for November 2017 is Brody Kopec.. Brody Kopec, is 16 years old and a grade 11 student at Notre Dame High School in Red Deer, and a competitive volleyball athlete. Brody is a big jumping, starting outside hitter with the Notre Dame Cougars, and has helped his team to a 6th place ranking in the ASAA 4A Boys Volleyball final rankings. Brody and his teammates, will battle Lindsay Thurber this week to determine who will represent the Central zone at ASAA Provincials November 23-25 in Medicine Hat. Brody is also a member of the Central Alberta Kings Volleyball Club, and this past summer was selected to Volleyball Alberta’s 16U Provincial Men’s Team and travelled to Orlando, Florida in July to compete at USA Volleyball’s High Performance Championship, where they finished with a 2 – 6 record in the International Division. Brody’s athletic gifts, his desire to excel along with his training experiences with ASDC-Central will only see Brody continue to grow and develop in his volleyball career! Brody hopes to play post-secondary volleyball and would like to pursue architecture or engineering after high school.
