Last Saturday’s 2016 Christmas Bazaar was an outstanding success! Around 5000 people attended the event this year to enjoy browsing among over a 100 stalls, delighting in a whole range of performances from drumming to dancing. It is lovely that the Bazaar brings the whole TES Family together to celebrate and have fun. The Bazaar is a shop window for all that is good at TES and it was a privilege to be there, to see so many smiling faces and to join in with the celebration. It was particularly impressive that the PSC managed to organise some glorious sunshine along with everything else! Huge congratulations go to our PSC Committee, ably assisted by the Section PTAs and Ms. Patricia Tzeng of TES, for organising and making sure that the Bazaar was such a brilliant event. We are also grateful to all the sponsors who gave so generously and helped make the day such a memorable occasion.
Thank you to everyone who was able to come along and support, it was great to have you there. ECA – Extra Curricular Activities th th 5 -9 December: Last week of Semester 1

Year 1 Field Trip to the Farm
2
by Mrs. Suzanne Lovrincevic
Year One visited Wei Chuan Pushin Ranch on Thursday 1st December. We were very excited on the bus there and it started to rain on our arrival but it didn't spoil the fun. The children fed horses, rabbits, chickens and cows. Those that were brave enough milked a cow too!
There was an exciting pig race around a field and some children had a go at lassoing a wooden horse. It was cold and damp but the children said it was a fun day. Thank you to the parents who helped.
YEAR 2 GO BACK IN TIME TO OLD SCHOOL This week the Year 2 children exchanged their TES uniforms for drab, black ack and white uniforms. They swapped their colourful classroom for a dull, black and white one. Instead of sitting in groups, they sat in rows, in boy-girl girl pairs. Their teachers transformed into strict adults, giving out punishments for the slightest hint of disobedience. There were no books, iPads or interactive games, only black boards and chalk. They stood to

attention, listening to the Taiwan national anthem and did exercise drills between very regimented lessons. This was all part of their Old School Day, ay, which formed part of their current Topic, ‘Hello Teacher’. The purpose was to really live the experience of what school was like forty years ago. Children ‘enjoyed’ the day, but were very happy to return to new-school new mode in the afternoon.

Fantastic Dancers by Peter Sloan The Friday morning assembly took the form of a dance spectacular. Children in Years 3 to 6 were joined by proud parents who watched our ECA Ballet dancers as they performed several pieces for us. The dances were a delight to watch and all the hard work and practice really paid off.
CCT Luncheon
Following the performance our dancers were awarded certificates that they had gained through passing Royal Academy of Ballet and Dance examinations earlier in the year. The girls can b be very proud of their achievements. Ms Grace Wong, our ECA Ballet teacher is to be congratulated for all her work with the girls.

Every year around Christmas season, our Primary Choir is invited to sing at European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan.. This year our CEO, Dr. Weston has led Primary Jazz Band Combo to accompany our Choir
singing too. 65 of our students have taken part to spread the good cheer to ECCT on 2nd December. A variety of the performance has been presented to this Luncheon event.
Share the Warmth by Peter Sloan Our British PTA have been ‘sharing the warmth’ and have collected box loads of sweaters, jumpers and other articles of clothing to share with Chung Yi Social Welfare Foundation. The warm clothing will be a great help at this chilly chill time of year.
Thank you to the PTA for organising this donation, it’s so important as a school to show compassion in action.
