MEMBERS Mike Guilmant-Cush (Chair) Mike Guilmant-Cush creates schools programmes that help young people develop their skills in science, technology, engineering, maths, sustainability, financial literacy, enterprise and employability. Since 2007 Mike has operated Mike Guilmant-Cush Ltd to provide independent consultancy and programme authoring for the UK’s leading education sponsorship agencies. His clients include Barclays, BP, RBS, EDF, E.ON, BT, Google, Samsung, Tesco, Rio Tinto, the NSPCC and the British Red Cross, for programmes supporting teachers and students across the UK and in the USA, Canada, Eastern Europe, South Asia and Australia. Mike was previously Development Director at Education Connections Ltd (2001 to 2007) and Account Manager then Education Manager at Education & Youth Ltd (1996 to 2001). Mike has been a governor since 2008 and is Chair of Governors at Colehill First School. Ed Bell Partner in St James’s Place Wealth Management since 2013. Prior to that, Ed was a Senior Manager at Lloyds TSB (Jan 1999 to Sept 2012) leading a multi-site network of 25 Branches and 250+ staff and responsible for target setting and monitoring, people development and recruitment. Cost control and risk management was a key focus of the role. Ed has been a Governor at St Michael’s Middle School since 2008 and was elected Chair in 2011. As part of the Wimborne Academy Trust creation, Ed was Chair of the Project Steering and Interim Board which enabled him to gain an insight into all areas of Academy regulations. Ed headed up the presentation team who visited the DfE in July 2014 to present their plans pre-Academy Order. Ed was elected Chair of Trustees in March 2015. Emma Boger Emma has been a registered nurse since 1999 with clinical experience in various settings, including working in schools. Since Sept 2015 Emma has worked as an Inspector responsible for the regulation of NHS services. Prior to that Emma worked as a project manager and Senior research fellow at The University of Southampton. Emma has a PhD in Health Sciences, centred upon outcome measurement in Long term conditions. Her strengths lie in her objectivity, strategic and critical thinking and with analysing and interpreting data (both quantitative and qualitative in nature) and statistics plus evaluating the impact of interventions. Emma also holds a BSc (Hons) in Health and Social care and an MSc in Health and Rehabilitation. Emma has a creative, analytical, practical and thorough approach to problem solving and is able and confident at presenting complex information to different audiences. Emma is currently Chair of Governors at St Johns’ First School, having been a parent governor and subsequent vice chair since November 2012. Emma is committed to school stakeholder involvement and enhancing their experience. On the Steering and Interim Board of the Wimborne Multi Academy Trust since the spring of 2014.

Debbie Fleming Debbie is currently Chief Executive for Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, having spent over 30 years as a manager within the NHS. Debbie started her career in Coventry Community Services, before joining the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme. She then spent fifteen years in the hospital sector, before moving into the planning and commissioning of health services. Debbie was appointed Chief Executive for Bournemouth & Poole Primary Care Trust in 2006, and later became Chief Executive for Hampshire Primary Care Trust. She took on the role of as Area Director (Wessex) for NHS England following the recent NHS reorganisation, before moving back to Poole Hospital in April 2014. Debbie is now thoroughly enjoying leading a provider organisation, working closing with clinicians to ensure the delivery of high quality care for patients. Debbie is an experienced NHS leader, with a strong track record of delivery and effective partnership working. She is renowned for her sound judgement and ability to work with people, as she has had to deal with many challenging situations and take difficult decisions. Her particular interests are in leadership development, strategic problem-solving and effective system management. She is currently chair of the Thames Valley and Wessex Leadership Academy. Debbie holds a Masters in Business Administration, a BSc in Social Sciences and the Diploma in Health Services Management. She is also a trained coach and facilitator. Debbie is married to husband John, and has two sons aged 19 and 17. Chris Tebbutt Canon Chris Tebbutt was appointed Team Rector at Canford Magna Churches in 2009 and Rural Dean of Wimborne in 2011. He serves on the Aldhelm Mission Fund and has been a member of the Salisbury Diocesan Finance Committee. Before training for the ministry, Chris qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Accountant. He left that profession and joined IBM where he worked in a variety of roles over 13 years ending up in management. He trained at St John’s College, Nottingham, where he received an Honours degree from Nottingham University. He served his four year title in the Diocese of Portsmouth before becoming Vicar in the Parish of St James’ Southbroom, for nine years. Chris is married to Sandra, who is also ordained and works for the Bible Society. They have three children and three grandchildren. Chris enjoys playing golf, skiing and playing music.

TRUSTEES Ed Bell (Chair) Ed is a Partner in St James’s Place Wealth Management since 2013. Prior to that, he was a Senior Manager at Lloyds TSB (Jan 1999 to Sept 2012) leading a multi-site network of 25 Branches and 250+ staff and responsible for target setting and monitoring, people development and recruitment. Cost control and risk management was a key focus of the role. Ed was a Governor at St Michael’s Middle School from 2008-2015 and was elected Chair in 2011. Steve Bennett Steve has been Head of Commercial Development for The Sports and Leisure Group since 2007 with responsibility for developing new leisure facilities through two successful leisure brands, Roko Health Club and PlayFootball, with a turnover of over £15m per annum. Steve sits on the management board who are responsible for the strategic direction of the company including budgeting, marketing strategy, brand standards, core values and implementing all company projects and campaigns. Steve has negotiated numerous contracts which has led to the investment of over £20m in leisure facilities across the country. His background is in managing some of the largest Health and Fitness Clubs in the country including Dorset Health and Racquets Club and The Royal Berkshire Health and Racquets Club, which employed over 200 staff and has a turnover of £13million per annum. Steve was Chair of Governors at the ‘outstanding’ Hayeswood First School in Colehill, Wimborne from 2012-2015. Peter Breckwoldt Peter is Vicar of St John’s Church, Wimborne in the Salisbury Diocese since 2011, with a budget of over £300,000 and a staff of eight. He is a Trustee and Director of the Latimer Trust (a theological publishing house). Peter has been a Governor at St John’s First School, Wimborne since 2011. He sat on the Steering and Interim Board of Wimborne Academy Trust since the beginning of 2014. Peter was financially trained prior to ordination by the Civil Service as an internal auditor. He has previously been a Governor at Moulton School, a large secondary school and Science College (2006-11), Moulton Primary School in Northamptonshire (1992-2000) and Bexton Infant School (now Primary), Knutsford Cheshire (1988-91).

Sharon Eldridge Sharon is currently working as a leader, doctor referral liaison, and leader mentor for WeightWatchers UK. Her previous roles include Finance & Resource Manager for a local building company McConnel Properties Ltd (2000-2007) and for a short time Finance Manager for fitness centres Curves Wimborne & Curves Ferndown (1999-2000). Sharon took a career break to support her family and during that time qualified in British Sign Language Level 1 & 2. She also worked at Reading University and Poole College as an interpreter for deaf students (1995-1999). She set up her own company Quintos Ltd which offered services to schools as a financial consultant (1991-1994) after leaving the Education Department of Berkshire County Council. Sharon was employed by Berkshire County Council from 1984 to 1991 working in the Education Department preparing Berkshire’s Scheme for Delegation, training and recruiting Finance Officers/Bursars in schools, financial software training and supporting schools in SIMS LMS. Sharon was Chair of Governors 2007-2009 & Chair of Finance 2005-2009 at Sturminster Marshall First School; and Chair of Governors of Allenbourn Middle School 2012 – 2015. Within the Academy Steering and Interim Board Sharon acted as work stream lead for Operations, Staffing & TUPE and is now a Trustee chairing the Performance, Standards and Staffing Committee. Martin McLeman Martin joined the Board of Trustees in June 2015. He is currently Headteacher at Queen Elizabeth’s School, Wimborne having held the position since 2013. Previously he was Acting Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher at Tewkesbury School and Assistant Headteacher at St.Thomas More School, Blaydon, Tyne & Wear. Martins teaching career started as a Teacher of Geography, Geology and Integrated Humanities at King Edward VII, Coalville, and afterwards as Community Tutor at Rawlins School and Teacher of Humanities at De LIsle School, Loughborough. Chris Mercer Chris graduated in Business & Finance in 1987 and joined Homebase Ltd on their graduate Management Training Scheme. He held various roles both in-store and at head office including operations manager for the South West region, regional installation and training manager for the store HR system (Horizon) and £28m companywide IT system (SAP). Chris entered into property development in 2007 renovating ex National Trust Estate cottages, later acquiring and managing a campsite. He is a Project Manager for the Youth Hostel Association. Chris was a Governor at Witchampton First School from 2010-14 and is currently Chair of Governors. He has a keen interest in the education of his 5 children and with the additional care required for his daughter who has down syndrome.

Nigel Paton Nigel trained and worked in the Hotel and Catering Industry from 1967 until 1972, gaining experience in all aspects of management, including Personnel, Payroll, and Project Management. He was already working with young people prior to Teacher Training and subsequent award of a B.Ed. (Hons) degree. Since 1976 Nigel has worked within education across all phases and held various posts of responsibility. Senior Leadership posts include Head of R.E. Department (Ashley Cross Secondary School, Poole 1976 – 78, Brentside High School, Ealing 1978–9) also Deputy Headship and Acting Headship (St Andrew & St Mark's CE VA Junior School, Surbiton, Kingston on Thames 1984-90) and Headship of St John's CE VA Primary School, Gosport 199094). Nigel spent a short period of time (1979–82) as an R.A.F. officer, working on the formulation of training programmes at RAF College, Cranwell at a time when various establishments were being re-located and training moved to a central location. Nigel has been a school governor since 1977, and Chair of Governors at Merley First School since 2002. Nigel has been fully involved with Poole Local Authority, serving on a Governors’ Forum and the Local Management of Schools Committee as well as being a member of the Schools Forum since 2004 during which time he has served as both Chair & Vice- Chair on a number of occasions. As a School Leader Nigel has taken an active role within his professional association (NAHT) since 1984 and has maintained this involvement since retirement from Headship, both at a local, regional and national level. As Local Secretary this has meant close involvement with the Local Authority and all school leaders. He sits on the National Life Members’ Committee and has been the South West Regional Secretary since 2011. John Dickson Awaiting Information

Liz West is CEO of Wimborne Academy Trust. She has been Headteacher at St John’s First School (Ofsted Outstanding July 2009, SIAMS Outstanding June 2014) since 2008, the Lead School for Wimborne Teaching School. Liz is an NLE and a Local Authority School Evaluation Partner. Liz takes the strategic lead for Wimborne Teaching School which is currently supporting six schools requiring improvement through a successful School to School Support bid, and is supporting NQT’s across Dorset, Poole and Bournemouth through a Teaching School programme ensuring newly qualified teachers are given an effective needs driven mentoring programme. She has been in involved in ITT for several years and has taken the lead role in developing School Direct within the Teaching School. Liz has been commissioned by the Diocese of Salisbury Multi Academy Trust (DSAT) and is a member of their Performance Scrutiny Committee. Liz will be one of 3 external service Headteachers brought in to improve the level of rigour the Trust applies to its review and challenge of the performance of its academies, challenging the executive and school leadership in the work that they are doing.

Liz sits on the Dorset School Improvement Partnership Board consisting local Teaching Schools and Local Authority, with a focus on leading on outcome based work around School Improvement within Dorset. Liz has also recently been invited to sit on the South West School Improvement Partnership Board as an NLE Specialist. The Board will have strategic oversight of key areas essential to increase standards across the region over the next 4 years. This will include monitoring the performance of academies, free schools, studio schools and UTCs and making recommendations to Sir David Carter, Regional Schools Commissioner where there are challenges and concerns. As a National leader of Education (NLE), Liz will play an essential part in ensuring the success of young people in the South West. As a member of the Board, she will be able to play a dynamic role in system leadership, collaborating with other experts in the region and sharing her knowledge in order to improve standards. The role will be especially important in assessing the impact of teaching schools and NLEs on school improvement in the region. This will be extremely beneficial for the future development of the Trust.

COLLEAGUES Ross Bowell – Business Director Ross is Business Director of Wimborne Academy Trust. He qualified as a chartered accountant at KPMG LLP in 2004 after graduating in PPE from Oxford University. Having specialised in housing and further education audit, Ross worked for a large social housing group in the north-west from 2005, serving as Finance Director from 2007 until his relocation to Wimborne in 2011. Ross is an experienced school business professional, having spent the last three years at Ringwood School, a large secondary academy and teaching school in Hampshire, where he served on the Hampshire Schools’ Forum. Ross holds the Advanced Diploma in School Business Management, and has additional accreditation in treasury and health and safety management. Ross is an SLE, serves on the Dorset Schools’ Forum and has developed a strong regional network across phase, status and local authority boundaries. Jo Dickinson – PA to CEO and Business Director Jo joined the Trust as PA to the CEO and Business Director in April 2015. Originally from Middlesbrough in the North East, Jo has worked in both the public and private sectors, most recently as PA to the Deputy Group Chief Executive of Thirteen Housing Group, the largest group of housing associations in the North East, in the top 25 nationally and one of the top 10 employers in the North East of England. Jo has a BSc (Hons) in Social Studies, a Certificate in School Business Management and Diploma in Administrative Management. Prior to her PA positions, Jo worked in education and was responsible for managing the free nursery entitlement grant across the private sector on behalf of Hartlepool Borough Council. She also held the position of Business Support Officer to the childcare sector at the same local authority. Jo worked for Business Link Tees Valley as a Business Information Researcher selling business information, carrying out financial checks and research to aid a company’s expansion/development.
