San Antonio School for Inquiry and Creativity Music

Band Syllabus Class Overview: Students in Band will explore and perform a variety of musical techniques and genres through the medium of an ensemble. The “Band” will perform at all of the San Antonio School for Inquiry and Creativity school events, when necessary and/or required. Students will develop and refine their technical musical skill in their primary instrument while developing musicality and emotional expression. Band is a place for musicians to come together and create great music for the individual and the audience. Through hands on learning, students will learn the art of: Stage Performance, Composition, Reproduction / Covering Songs, Concert Logistics, Stage Lighting, Live Sound Mixing, School Promotion/Marketing and having a GREAT time! Events: Students in Band are required to participate in all of the following events negating extenuating circumstances that can be approved by Mr.Wilson. -

Harvest Fest Thanksgiving Dinner Holiday Musical Fiesta Flambeau Parade Art Show Graduation School Promotion / Marketing Open Mic Nights

All event dates are available on the music calender which you can view at Mr. Wilson’s class website: sites.google.com/site/wilsonsmusicclass Navigate to the Calendar Page. New Dates will appear as they are booked. Grading: Students will be graded by the following criteria: - 50% - Projects (Recording, Performance, Composition and Production) - 20% - Journals (Daily listening and written response) - 5% - Daily Work / Quizzes Contact Mr Wilson at [email protected]
